it starts real easy,but runs very rough,and back fires ,pops ,we need help

Has it sat in storage a long time? I speculate that the carb is gummed up.  Take it apart clean it  and it should run like a champ.  Make sure you have fresh fuel in the tank as well.  Fresh fuel needs to have a fuel stabilizer added to it as well.  Always run the generator dry of fuel in the carb by shutting the fuel valve off and letting it run until its out of fuel before storage.
