Chevrolet Repair: 2000 chevy tahoe will not start, fuel pressure regulator, chevy tahoe

Question
driving down the road it sputtered and died.  i towed it back home and got into shop by spraying gas into the throttle body.  replaced fuel filter. can hear fuel pump running. still will not start...

Answer
Common issue wit these trucks.  Is this a 5.3 "Z" motor? That's the 8th digit of the VIN.  If it's a Z motor it's most likely the fuel pump.  It will kick on, but won't have enough pressure.  Also while you replace the pump, change out the fuel pressure regulator, located on the drivers side fuel rail on the engine.  Alot of times when the pump goes bad, tiny  metal particles get by the filter and get trapped in the regulator.  Also, another thing.  Check the INJ1 and INJ2 fuses.
Just in case
