Chevrolet Repair: AC CHEVY ASTRO 2002, chevy astro, astro 2002

Question
I HAVE AN 2002 CHEVY ASTRO CONVERSION VAN MY AIR ONLY COMES OUT OF THE DEFROST VENTS NO MATTER IF THE CONTROL SETTING IS ON MAX AC OR AC ETC. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Answer
Sounds like the vacuum line to the control head is broken somewhere in the circuit.  Check under the hood on the passenger side.  You should see two vacuum lines, one black, one white.  With the car running disconnect the black vacuum line see if you have vacuum coming from the engine.  If you do, it's inside the car, most likely behind the "DOG HOUSE".  It may have gotten pinched.  If you don't have vacuum there check on the passenger side of the engine, behind the air box(you will need to remove the air box)see if the vacuum line is hooked up to the port of the EVAP solenoid.  Alot of times if you have had work done in that area, it becomes disconnected.
Hope you find the issue
