Chevrolet Repair: FUEL FILTER, chevy colorado, fuel rail

Question
I HAVE A 2004 CHEVY COLORADO 4x4 Z71 with 43,000 miles. It started doing a slight bucking action on the highway about 1 hour into my trip. I did have a heavy load in the bed. I believe I need to change the fuel filter (it has never been changed before) but I cannot locate it. Where would it be?

Answer
There is no fuel filter for your truck. GM stopped putting them on the fuel rail starting in that year.  They do have a filter but is part of the fuel pump assembly in the tank at about 600 bucks.  Wish I could be more help.  If you give me an idea of when it bucks let me know, I might be able to help
