Question
I have checked the spark and changed the fuel pump but I can't seem to corect an Intermittent starting problem and what sounds lika a governor sestricting my engine to not more than 3000 RPMs . I have replaced the MAP sensor and the idle air valve in my quest, I even removed the mid point injection system and tested it to make sure it was clear. 4.3 V6 MFI Code W

Answer
Hi David.... all autos today have rev limiters on them. when you rev the truck in park it will cut out so no damage can be done to the engine...if truck has no power check to see if the cat converter is plugged...could also be the cause of hard start problem...if thats ok...then check the fuel pump relay...if relay is bad it will cause long crank times as the pump will not come on untill you have oil pressure...hope this helps
