Chevrolet Repair: no dash lights?, climate control unit, stock gauge

Question
I recently tried to swap a 2003 denali gauge cluster into my 2000 silverado.  It didnt light up at all or do anything so I returned it to the salvage yard.  I put my stock gauge cluster back in and now neither it or my dash lights work.  I still have use of my radio, climate control unit and light switch.  The dimmer still works too, but i noticed i also have no chime when I leave the lights on with the truck off.  I checked the fuses that I figured would be connected to this and still nothing...any advice you could give me?  Thanks.

Answer
You may have damaged the BCM.  If all of the fuses are ok check them again.  ALL of the fuses not just the inst or courtesy ones.  Check everyone including radio and cig lighter.
The problem with some of those years is although all of the connectors are the same they are not in the same spots.  If you applied 12v to the dataline you probably fried it.  Without a scan tool and a wiring diagram at this point you are just going to be pulling your hair out
