Chevrolet Repair: 99 Chevrolet K1500 Pickup, chevrolet k1500, input voltages

The interior lights of my 99 Chevrolet K1500 Pickup (old body style) come on spontaneously. This is after they had gone off by the timer (approx. 30 seconds). The doors are both shut good. Is there a way I can disable the timer and have them just go on and off when the door opens and closes?

Hey,

 The courtesy timer is receiving an input somehow and starting the timer. You need to check the input voltages when wiggling the doors. Worn door pins and bushings or a latch can cause this.  When the light is off grasp the door and try and force it around.  If the light comes on you know which door it is.  It isn't going to be the timer.
