Chevrolet Repair: ENGINESWAP, passlock, question thanks

Question
QUESTION: wayne ,I have a 1996 suburban with a zz4 350 roller motor,I want to put it a 1992 ss truck that had a tbi 350 in it,I own a junkyard so parts is not a problem.I assume wiring harness, computer etc ,can you throw a mystical chant my way?

ANSWER: The big difference is the 1996 is CFI and the 92 is TBI.  Other than some modifications the chassis are nearly the same.  You might as well swap the harness on the trucks.  Is the 92 Electronic overdrive?  That might be another issue but matchit all up.  It would probably be a sweat swap and sounds like a great idea.  Alott easier than my buddies Northstar in his Fiero!

QUESTION: thanks for the quick response and for looking for other problems, shifting not a problem, trans is a bm350,will the entire harness be nessesary or just the engine compartment half?

Answer
The whole darn thing..  Its almost all on the outside anyways and the pcm mounts will go right on the fender.  Lets put it this way.  When I print out a 1992 TBI wiring diagram its one page.  A 1996 CFI is three.  It would look much nicer if you didnt double up on wires and had all the looms and everything.  I would do the whole engine compartment.
Here is a trick question you are gonna have to worry about:

The 1996 is going to be PASSLOCK and the 1992 will be VATS1.  How were you planning on dealing with that?
