Chevrolet Repair: 99 chevy venture, mass air flow sensor, mass air flow

Question
QUESTION: I have a 99 chevy venture that the check engine light has been on for about a month it showed the o2 sensor  was bad. It has been running fine so I didn't take the time to replace. now it doesn't want to. yesterday it started to hesitate every once in awile the it just died. if I pump the pedle i can get it to idleextreamly rough.Backfires and misses bad. I pulled P0134,P0135,P00300,andP1133 codes off of it. Will a o2sensor really make it run this bad or is it hiding a bigger problem I'm not sure what the P113 code manafacture control fuel air metering) means I can't find anything on it

ANSWER: Hey,

No it will not.  A bad mass air flow sensor will though.  And will set o2 codes.  Just because you have an 02 sensor code does not mean you have a problem with the 02 sensor.  It is just telling you it is at max fuel trim.  It could be an ignition missfire as well.  Spark should be checked and your plugs as well.

QUESTION: well I changed the o2 sensor while I waited for your reply and like we both thought it didn't make a difference I'll check the MAF sensor tomorrow now I can't even get it to idle rough now it cranks over fine but as soon as it fires once it kicks bcak and kicks the starter out. it's also act like it's popping back through the intake. I'm starting to think it jumped time

Answer
No, it didn't jump time. Take the Maff out and see if the center is burnt out.  Has the intake manifold been done on it in the past?  The reason I ask is that I have been having an unusually large number of ventures and other U vans in with pulled rocker bolts.  When the intake is done guys over tighten the rocker bolts and they wreck the aluminum threads.  They pull out after about 20k or so if they are not torqued down.  I can guide you through this whole drivability procedure.  I know those vans fairly well by memory and can look up anything else you need.
