Chevrolet Repair: BLAZER RUNS AND MISSFIRES AND QUITS, mass air flow, chevy blazer

QUESTION: HELLO,I HAVE A 96 CHEVY BLAZER 4.3 V6 VORTECK MOTOR.YOU HAVE TO TURN KEY ON AND TURN MOTTOR OVER THREE OR FOUR TIMES BEFORE THE MOTOR WILL RUN.THEN IT WILL RUN EVERY TIME AFTER THAT FIRST TURN OF THE KEY.BUT AFTER YOU GET IT STARTED IT WILL RUN ABOUT 5 TO 10 MINUTES AND BEGIN TO MISSFIRE ON #1 AND BEGIN TO GO DOWN THE LINE UNTIL THE REST DO AND STALL.IT SEEMS TO RUN REALLY RICH WHEN IT DOES THIS AND I HAVE CHANGE THE MASS AIR FLOW SENCOR,REGALTOR VALVE.FUEL PUMP.FUEL FILTER,PLUGS,CAP,ROTOR WIRES,CHECK IT WITH A SCAN TOOL AND COMES UP WITH A PLUGED CONVERTOR BUT THATS BEEN CLEANED OUT.ALSO PUT A COIL AND MODULE ON IT TOO.I WOULD BE VERY GREATFUL IF YOU COULD HELP ME OUT WITH THIS.ITS GETTING VERY DISCURGING AND STRESSFULL AND COSTLY.THANKS

ANSWER: Leon,

  You scanned the computer for codes and it came up with a plugged converter?  There is no code for a plugged converter.
  There could be a fractured fuel injector line inside of the manifold.    Guessing and jamming on so many parts is very expensive and time consuming.  You should take it to a qualified technician to have it diagnosed properly and take it home to do the repairs yourself.

QUESTION: the garage i took it to is my best freind and said the code it reads has something to do with a obstructed convertor.you beleave its a fractured injector line,the shop i have close to home is a bunch of thiefs.i bought a 1999 s-10 4x4 4.3 .its been nothing but trouble and had a warranty with he would not stand by after i bought it.so i will no do busseness with any more .hope you can solve this problem for me .thanks leon

  Sounds like your friend is wrong too.  There are not codes related to converters being obstructed but there is a code for converter efficiency .  Could this be what he means?  A fractured fuel line inside the manifold can cause over fueling and eventually a stall from an excessive rich condition.
