Chevrolet Repair: CAVALIER COIL PACK, center electrode, ground electrode

Question
1999 CAVALIER 2.2 WHICH COIL PACK MOUNT IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR   NUMBER 4&1 OR 3&2 AND  MY REPAIR BOOK SAY THAT  NUMBER ONE CYLINDER  WIRE GOES TO NUMBER 4 AND  NUMBER 4 CYLINDER GOES TO 1 AND 3TO3 AND 2 TO 2  IS THAT RIGHT ??

Answer
Hey,

That system is waste spark and will work either way.  The only technical difference is that the spark will jump from the ground electrode to the center electrode on the opposite coil.
If you mixed up 1/4 or 2/3 it would still run fine.

On a Saturn with a similar setup it is imperative you get 1/4 correct because an inductive cam sensor in the module will set a code if its wrong.

I get them in all the time mixed up and backwards.
