My cavalier decided not to start for me...knowing the sound of the fuel pump when you turn the key it didn't do it any more..so i checked the relay...its good...i checked fuse in dash its good..so i dropped the tank and replaced the pump..still don't work..this is where im stuck i multimetered the relay slot there is power..i metered the fuse slot..there is power.. i also metered the contacts that the pump plugs in and there is power...to add to the confusion i took the old pump cut the ground and power and touched it to the battery just to see...and it worked so i put in a pump that wasn't needed ..plz help...is there another relay or circuit somewhere?

Answer
You say you have power going to the fuel pump connector but the pump still will not operate, correct?
Check to see if the ground circuit is ok at the same connector.
If that is ok then the circuit that is on the sending unit may have an open. Check continuity.
Also take a good look at the fuel pump connector for burn marks or overheating.
Make sure you are on the correct circuit.
