Chevrolet Repair: 98 chevy malibu, blown head gasket, chevy malibu

Question
My car overheated a few days ago. It overheated so bad that it cut off. I put so water in it to get it home. Since then my water reservoir is spurting out; bubbling up; it's like pressure is building up. I changed my thermostat; flushed the radiator; isn't the water pump. What else can it be besides a blown head gasket? If it is a blown head gasket please give me an estimate as accurate as possible for the price of it?

Answer
That kind of pressure in the overflow is usually head gasket.  You may also see profuse white smoke in the exhaust.  Possible that you cracked a cylinder jug.

This car has issues with the intake gasket that should be recalled.  This causes many problems with leaks and overheating.  Not safety so no recall.

Head gasket estimate is around $700 or $800 to have it done.  The part will be $350 of it.  For that money you should get a resurfaced head sealing surface, valve job, new gaskets, new freeze plugs (mainly a rebuilt head and new gasket set).  GM should be forced to pay this.  You can try calling someone at their headquarters.  Dont let the dealer do this job.  They will make it the same as it was, which is not good.  And they will rip you off.

Good luck!
