Chevrolet Repair: 93 corsica belt tension, belt tension, belt tensioner

Question
where do i release the tension on th alternator belt

Answer
There is a belt tensioner.  This is a pulley with an arm attached to it.  It has a large diameter at the pivot point that contains a spring.  You put a wrench at the pulley and swing the pulley away from the belt.  The longer the wrench, the more leverage and easier to swing the tensioner.  Make sure you note the belt routing, so you can reinstall the belt the way it is supposed to go.  Should be a diagram somewhere under the hood.  Take pictures of the belt route for reference if in doubt.
