Chevrolet Repair: Valve adjusting, negative battery cable, chevy corsica

Question
Hi! I'm asking for my brother. He is wondering what the valve adjustment is for a 2.2 Chevy Corsica (1995) is. It would be most helpful if you had the answer for him. The car he just picked up for my niece, but needs some minor repairs. She will be getting her license in a few days and wants the car running like a charm.
Thankyou in advance.
