Chevrolet Repair: broken hood latch on a 1986 celebrity 4 door sedan, hood latch, chevy celebrity

I own a chevy celebrity,1986 4door sedan. The primary latch located inside under the dash on the left side (which is the driver's side) is stripped how can I open my hood to check out other things under my hood? How do I open my hood?

Hi Tammy,
Either find someone with a Celebrity like yours, or go to a salvage yard, and look at how the latch is released.
Knowing that, you can often fabricate a gizmo to release yours.
Look at where the cable is routed, and see if you can figure out where yours is broken.
Sometimes you can cut into the housing, and grasp the broken cable with vise grips, and release it.
Then, replace the bad cable.

If all else fails, a trip to a dealership bodyshop can get it open with minimal damage.
