Chevrolet Repair: Chevy 89 Corsica 2.8L [172 cubes] FWD, chevy corsica, 69 roadrunner

Question
Barry, please excuse me,btu all the others are "maxed" out in the ?'s department.  Could you plz "somehow" relay my problem to another,if you dont answer it?  I have a Chevy Corsica 89' FWD 2.8L efi H/B.  They are rare, soooooo rare I cant even find NOTHING to "beef" it up.  I too grew up in the late 60's and 70's and had nooooo problem finding parts for my 71Cuda440 six-pack and my 69'Roadrunner 383,BUT this Corsica is driving me nuts. I get alot of complements cause it still looks good and theyre hard to find.  Please help if possible, Im trying to find headers, oversize head, shift kit,[its automatic],and a computer chip thats worth a darn.  If there is no hope, could you please ask someone if putting another motor to fit is worth a try?  Of course it would be beefed up too....LOL.  Thank you for your time.

Answer
My experience with the 2.8L is; It's not worth the attempt, way weak bottom end, poor design, lousy oiling! when I sold engine kits for a Dana Corp. auto warehouse, we NEVER had a good crank core out of any 2.8L engine!!! If it's legal in your area, the 3.8 or 4.3 is the way to go, however, many obstacles to go over to do this! Good Luck!
