Chevrolet Repair: 1996 Blazer AC, passanger side, slim chance

Question
Hi, I bought my Blazer 2 years ago and the AC only worked for a couple of weeks. Since then, I have had the freon charged twice and it only worked for a few hours.  The mechanics said there was no leak.  Were they wrong?  They did refund the money I paid them at least!

Answer
Hi Carol,

They were wrong or fibbing.  Where else did it go?  There is a slim chance that there is a plug in the orafice tube, the evaproator or condensor.  Being mechanics, they should have been able to tell that.  If you have pressure but no air, then the system is plugged or frozen, or the clutch is slipping or off.

Those Blazers are known to blow a hole in the corner of the condensor, near the passanger side.  The only fix if that happened is a new one.
