how do I get the brake light bulb out of the tail light assembly. I see no access from the trunk as its totally surrounded by the molded carpeting stuff and I see no way to remove the assembly from the outside?

Hi Scott,

Look around the trunk behind the light assembly, for some large black wing nut.  You may see this with carpet behind it, and you may have to move the carpet to see them.  Should be 2 or 3, and have a hex in the middle, for use with a socket.  Unscrew those nuts and the assembly will come out.
