Chevrolet Repair: 1990 Corsica Transmission, 1990 chevrolet corsica, chevrolet corsica

Question
I have a 1990 Chevrolet Corsica LT with the 3.1 Multi Port FI. When I start my car it sprays transmission fluid all over the place I think I've narrowed it down to a part that looks like a dull aluminum cylinder about a foot long. I don't have any trouble shifting so I dont know what it could be. I hope you can help.

Answer
Hi Steve,

My first guess is the trans cooling lines.  Don't drive this car until you have solved this problem.  You will toast your trans, fast.

When the motor runs, the pump is moving fluid through the trans in a supply/return type of system.  Even if you don't move your car, fluid is moving.  If you are spraying at a stop, it is this system that has failed.  Cooling lines get the most flow at this point.

Good luck
