Chevrolet Repair: 1996 Camaro Z28, light flickers, light flicker

Question
I have a 1996 Camaro Z28.  When it gets cold outside(below 40 degrees), the car won’t start immediately. When I open the door the alarm light flickers on the dashboard. I have to wait until the light stops flickering before I can try to start the car. Most times it won’t start. So I have to open the door, let the light flicker and stop, then try again. If it’s really cold, say about 20 degrees, sometimes I go through this process 5 or 6 times before I can start the car. It’s not the battery, it did it when I got a new battery. Any thoughts. Thanks. Barry

Answer
I'm sorry but I have never heard of this problem before. But my first guess would have something to do with the alarm system. The car should be designed not to start if the alarm has been triggered. I would say to take it to the proffessionals and have them look at the alarm system. Sorry
