what is the procedure for replacing the tensioner assembly on a 2.2L 98 chev cavalier and what tools are needed any special ones?

If you go to like autozone or something like that they should loan you the correct tool to get the belt off. After that it is as simple as loosening the tensioner and replacing it with a new one. If memory serves me right, there should just be one bolt through the middle of the tensioner that you take out. Then you just do everything in reverse order to install the new one.
