my 2001 chevy malibu will fire but not turn over what could the problem be

Hi Patsy, You need to test a couple things here. First thing I want you to do is get some carb cleaner and spray it into the air intake, now try to start the car. If it runs for a short time you need a new fuel pump. This is the most common thing to go bad. If it doesn't try to run after spraying the carb cleaner then you have a ignition problem which could be the ignition module itself.
