Chevrolet Repair: 1997 c1500 fuel guage, chevy c1500, fuel gauge

I have a chevy c1500 v6 4.3L truck and since i got it the fuel gauge doesn't read anything but full. Occasionally it moves but goes right back to full regardless the amount of gas in the tank. If possible can you explain to me what to change and where it is located on the vehicle.

Hi Timothy, What you need is a level sensor which is what reads the fuel level. It is in the tank on the fuel pump assembly. You have to think about how lucky you feel when you replace the sensor, you might want to replace the fuel pump too!!
