Chevrolet Repair: 1989 chevy cavalier, chevy cavalier, bad hope

I was driving to work this morning and my car died in the middle of the intersection.  No spuring, No warning just died.  It still turns over but it will not start, and the check engine light is on.  Any ideas?

Hi Christine, Will you need to do a couple simple checks to see whats not working. First thing I would do is spray some carb cleaner into the throttle body and then crank the engine to see if it runs for a short time. If it does then the problem is in the fuel system, bad fuel pump. If it doesn't then the problem is in the ignition system, bad ignition module. These are the 2 most common things to go bad.
