Chevrolet Repair: Transmission Leaking, 1990 chevy 1500, universal joints

Question
I have a 1990 chevy 1500 silverado pickup. It has a 5.0 V8 and automatic trans. After driving the truck I pulled into my driveway which is at a normal slant the tranny was dripping trans fluid. I crawled under the truck and the fluid seamed to be leaking around the universal joints at the front yoke. there was no fluid around the yoke shaft where it slides into the tranny. It was almost like the shaft had a hole in it and was leaking passed the seal. When I pulled it in the garage where it is level it stopped. Can you help on this one , Thanks David

Answer
Hi David, There is a rubber seal that goes into the yoke and seals the fluid from coming out through the end of the yoke. Can you get this seal? I don't know. You might just have to buy a new yoke and install it.

Hope this helps
