Chevrolet Repair: 1996 S10 2.2 Valve Chatter, chevy dealership, tappets

My S10 has been making sound under the hood like a chattering sound of a tappet loose.  I need to know if the tappets can be tightened and what clearance i need to ajust them to.  What tools will I need?

If I remember right no the valves are not adjustable, they just like to come loose, but I would double check with your local chevy dealership just in case. If I'm right you can take the valve cover off and using a 5/8 socket and ratchet just tighten down the rocker arms. Usually this is only a temporary fix, chevy 4 bangers are known for valve chatter.
