Chevrolet Repair: 6.2 liter diesel, engine / starter problem,,,, chevy lovers, chevytalk

Question
i own a 86 gm suberban, 6.2 diesel. where the starter bolts in, the engine block broke, leaving me w/ 1 half of a thread, to bolt to, on the weak side, leaving me w/ a 1 inch piece of block on the ground, and only 1 good bolt to use,,, is there any way that can be welded back, or something bought to repair this. Surely this has happened to somone before,,,,

Answer
Ouch, Dick!!
That one hurts bad.
I have had the bolts break, and I have had the starter housings busted to pieces on the 6.2, but never had a chunk break out like that.
I'll sure try to look at one tomorrow, but don't know of any quick fix at this point.

Let me give you a link to a Chevy lovers forum, where a lot more people can view that question.
I am Fixitfox33 on that site, and this referral link is a real easy way to get signed up. It is totally free, and very interesting.
Go to the 86 truck, van, and blazer section, and post the same question.
Here is the link.
