Chevrolet Repair: Intermittent starting problem, intermittent problem, steering wheel

Question
My '97 car has an intermittent problem starting. About once a month or so when I go to turn on the car nothing happens, and I mean absolutely nothing. No engine turnover, clicking, nothing. The way I get it started is moving the key in the ignition, putting the car in neutral and back to park plus moving the steering wheel. Basically I probably don't do anything that would remotely fix the problem. After going back and forth doing this over and over it starts.  Afterwards it works fine, starting the first time. Do I have a bad spot on the starter? The battery is new and I recently had it tuned up.

Answer
check your ignition onthe column where you put the key and check your parking switch. the car dont know your in park so it wont start. goingback and forth leads me to belive this. one or the other or even both is what is telling the car you dont have key in and or your not in park.
