Chevrolet Repair: 88 Chevy 1500 auto-transmission, vacuum modulator, chevy 1500

I have been having shifting problems with my transmission lately. It seems to shift very hard when accelerating. It has also recently not gone into reverse a few times; if I put it back into Park and back to Reverse it normally works fine. I've been told this could be the vacuum modulator. What do you think?

Hi Ron, the first thing a would check is the fluid to make sure it isn't burnt or turning dark. Should be pink. Then make sure the detent cable is adjusted correctly. If you don't know how to do this have someone that does do it for you. In this year there was a vacuum modulator.
