Chevrolet Repair: vss, chevrolet blazer ls, chevrolet blazer

i have a chevrolet blazer ls 2000, every now and then the speedometer goes crazy and then does not move at all. I verified voltage disconecting the vss and it was arround 3.0 volts instead of 5 volts. Could this be the reason for the failure ?

Hi Julio, What you need to do is check for any codes in all modules. If there isn't any codes then  the problem is most likely the cluster itself. The VSS sensor sends a signal to the abs system and the pcm also using this info, so if the vss were the problem it would set codes in this modules.
