Chevrolet Repair: Front Axle Repair, chevy blazer, partial breakdown

Question
Hi..I just purchased a 1998 chevy blazer (4 door, LS, 4x4), and while doing repairs to the front end (ball joints), we noticed the front differential has a leak and some movement where the CV joint enters it on the drivers side. We want to correct the problem, and believe there to be a seal & Bearing inside, but we really can't find any good information to help guide us. We found a microfiche which is showing a partial breakdown, so we have an idea of what we need to do (remove clip from end of shaft to allow it to be removed). But we are unsure of how to accomplish this. Do we need to remove the whole differential? Or can this repair be done by just removing the plate on the drivers side?
Any help would be great!
Thanks
Brooke

Answer
if your looking for a parts breakdown, a good library has chilton books, find your car and page etcc, and get them photocopied. these books are a bit expensive so they are typically refrence only.

if not, i looked on the net and a few sites have pay to view stuff. im into free..  so if i can find anything ill post here..
