Chevrolet Repair: fuel injection, spark plug wires, fuel pump relay

Question
I have a 1988 S-10 pickup 2wd with 2.5 4cyl motor. I pulled the truck into my friends garage to give a tune up, changed oil, fuel filter, spark plug wires and plugs, cap and rotor. After doing all that work backed it out to take for a test drive and a soon as I backed it out it died and would not start again, Since then we have traced all wires, changed the whole distributor, the oil sending unit that opens up the injector, the fuel pump relay, and the computer box. I have reground the computer ground wire and can still not get the injector to open up. I am sure it is something stupid but can not find it. My question is what should I try or look at. An expiation of how the fuel injection works would help to

Answer
ok, did you use a new distributor, or a used one to replace the old one? if you used a used one, and the injector still wont pulse, you probably have a bad pickup coil. if thats bad, it wont let the injector pulse. i know this because the first time my car wouldnt start, i went thru the whole diagnostic proceedure to have my brother walk up and say, "its the pickup coil" i almost threw something at him!! lol. but anyway, give that a try and i think you will be satisfied, provided you have a used one in there. even if not, ive seen them bad out of the box. good luck and let me know how you made out.
