Chevrolet Repair: 1994 Chevy S-10 Blazer, electrical response, good connections

Question
When I turn the key in the ignition there is no electrical response, no clicking, no sound, no nothing just dead but the lights come on and I also jumped it from another car and it was the same.  Is there a relay or coil or something that maybe defective?

Answer
Hi Bud, The first thing to check is the wiring at the starter. The positive battery cable goes to the starter and then there is wiring that comes off the starter to feed to rest of the truck. These wires are fuses called fusible links. Make sure that you have good connections and that the fusible links are not blown. Be sure to pull on each of them to make sure that they are not corroded inside the insulation.

Hope this helps
