HI,
ME AND MY SON ARE PAINTING A 68 NVA WITH SOME SHERWIN WILLIAMS 7000 ACRILIC URATHNE(SOME SPELLING)
WE JST DID ALL OF THE JAMS, SILLS AND UNDER OF THE HOOD AND DECK LID. WE HAVE A FEW SPOTS WITH SOME DUST THAT TRAPPED IN THE CLEAR. COULD YOU TELL ME WHAT THE PROPER PROCEDURE IS TO REMOVE IT? AFTER CLARING THE WHOLE CAR WOYLD WE WET SAND THE CLEAR
THEN POLISH...OR RECOTE? BTW WE USED THE IWATA 400 LPHV GUN...VERY NICE SMOOTH GUN.

Answer
Wet sand the Whole car with 1500 grit than 2000 grit also wet sanded. Then buff with a course rubbing compound 3M heavy duty compound is the best. Then buff with light duty rubbing compound 3M is also the best for that as well. Then buff with 3M machine glaze and hand polish with that as well. Hand glaze small areas at a time use a very soft cloth 3M makes them as well. For machine buffing 3M makes a foam waffle pad for rubbing compound and one for machine glaze. Follow these steps and you will be very satisfied.
All these products are available at Napa or Carquest type stores. Also do not sand too much just enough to remove dirt.
