Question

-------------------------------------------
I have a locking gas cap installed. There is no charcoal cannister, never has been

-----Question-----
Hello, I have a 1970 Nova, i cannot seem to get a locking gas cap to seal the tank. I believe my fuel is evaporating. How can I stop this. I have tried different caps but when I take the cap off, there is no release of pressure.
-----Answer-----
There shouldn't be any pressure in a 70. it should be vented to the charcoal canister.
Sure someone isn't stealing your gas?
It shouldn't evaporate in the tank fast enough for you to even be able to tell.

Answer
C'mon now Jim,
I could find a key that would open it.
If you have a locking cap, there must be a reason you suspect someone might be helping themselves.

And I am simply amazed if it didn't at some time or other have a vapor recovery canister.

I would have no expectation for it to have pressure in the gas tank.
