Chevrolet Repair: Went in to replace ball joints...now the fuel pump??, lower ball joints, side fender

Question
I brought my wifes 98 GMC Jimmy (4.3W) into a local repair shop to have the ball joints and Idler arm replaced!!!  After driving the vehicle and still noticing a clunk in the front end, I returned to to the shop and voiced my concerns!!  They would investigate??  10 minutes after returning home I received a call telling me they cannot start my car, they checked fuel pressure ( port near the firewall)and guage showed 0 psi.  I went to the shop and observed the guage showing 0 psi.  We swapped out the relay in the fuse box (drivers side fender) and still no pressure.  Sprayed carb cleaner into the throttle body and engine turned over and ran (briefly) and then died.  Pulled wiring harness plug at top of fuel tank and tested w/a voltage light and light showed power going to the fuel pump??  Would there be any other relays or sensors to check or is is my fuel pump somehow tied into my lower ball joints...LOL!!!  No other fuel issues prior to this...(101,000) miles!!  Thanks for your time!!

Answer
Hello George, Yes I have seen this type of thing happen before. I know it doesn't look good, like they are tring to get into your pocket right!! They already made money on you and they didn't make the pump crap out.

Hope this helps you
