I just sent a question but, it actually say ETS OFF not open

Hi Mary,

I did a little research for you and found another person with this same problem.  This answer was for them, written by someone else.  I believe this fits your problem as well.  So here is what they had to say:

ETS stands for Electronic Traction System. It is the traction control part of the ABS(antilock brake system).
You have a code stored in either the powertrain control module(PCM) or the ABS module. When the code set, the ETS was automaticaly turned off. You cant clear codes on a 1997 car by disconnecting the battery. You have to use an OBD II scan tool. But before the codes are cleared, you need to find out what they are and if there is a problem that needs to be repaired.
