-----Question-----
The transfer case doesn't make any noise(when I did the transfer case motor I checked to make the transfer case moved free, and it did.
When I press the button on the dash, the 2wheel light is solid, and the 4wheel high flashes 3 times in sequence with the clicking by the passenger kick panel

"I have a couple of problems. First I have a 1998 Chevy Blazer and the 4 wheel drive isn't working. If I press the switch on the dash you can hear the relay by the passenger kick panel clicking. I have already replaced the transfer case motor, and the vacuum switch on the transfer case. I've also looked at the diaphragm under the battery and it looked fine. What else can I check? The second problem is my ABS light is on. I replaced the front wheel bearing assembly. After I did the bearing the light wasn't on. The rear brake pads needed replacing, I replaced them, and the ABS light came on. I had the computer scanned and nothing came up. Is there a ABS sensor on the rear brakes? It dose seem as if one of the calipers in the rear are hanging up and I plan on replacing it.

Hello Mike, First the 4wheel problem. When you shift into 4 wheel do you hear the transfer case shift? If so, then have someone watch the front driveshaft while you roll forward to see if it is turning. If it is, Be sure that there is vacuum at the transfer case switch. If that is good now check at the diaphragm for vacuum. If not repair the leak. I have seen the cable from the diaphragm to the front axle seize up, so this could be the problem. I have also seen where the transfer case vacuum switch has gone bad and applied the front axle just enough to grind up the shifting part of the front axle. You would know this if everything looked and worked ok. You can repair the front axle by just removing the tube on the right side, the gears are in there.

ABS, you must have a bad sensor in the front. There isn't anything in the rear brakes.

Rear brake calipers do have a problem with the slides in the bracket that holds the brake pads. Replace the calipers with loaded calipers, they come with new pads and are priced very well.

Hope this helps

Mike before you do anything else i want you to disconnect the battery for 1 minute and then try the 4 wheel switch. Let me know what happens.

Mark,

First, My ABS light is off, The wire was defective. One down, one more to go!!!!

Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery was one of the first things I did when this problem started, nothing changed, that resets everything right?
I also checked to see if i have vaccum at the vaccum switch on the transfer case. There seems to be three hoses (connected with a rubber gromit) that go to that switch if this is correct I only have vaccum in one of the hoses.

I was reading some of your other reply and you talked about relay/computer could that be bad? (just a shot in the dark)

Mike

Answer
Hello Mike, Well you have done the transfer case motor, so now the only thing left to do is replace the module. Also I have seen the connector at the module get coroded, this will cause problems. Check it out and install a new module.
