Chevrolet Repair: 98 lumina, crankshaft pulley, crank pulley

Question
have 98 lumina that the crank pulley has came out away from the engine about an inch and no longer lines up with the belt. after removing the retaining nut i found small pieces of rubber behind the nut. i have mostly worked on older cars and i am tring to figure out what parts i need to repair the crankshaft pulley

Answer
Hello Stewart, what you need is a new crankshaft pulley because yours is in 2 pieces. They make the balancer/pulley in 2 parts and join them with rubber. Remove the remaining part and install a new pulley. While your there you might as well replace the seal that the balancer goes into.(Crankshaft front seal)

Hope this helps
