Chevrolet Repair: Am/FM radio, fm tower, dash unit

Question
I have a 92 Scotsdale and can not get the radio to recieve.
The radio is seperate dash unit with a seperate cassette in the middle of the dash. The cassette player works.
Where I live in an area prone to rust I 've checked all the connections on the "brain" down on the firewall. Occasionally when drivng close to a FM tower I can hear something. The antenna has been replaced. I'm not sure if the truck is worth replacing the brain an am considering a satellite radio replacement. Where these use the FM tuners I want to make sure I'm not wasting my time. What do you think?

Answer
Hi Dale, The good old days on this one. Yes we did replace a few of the control units under the dash. This part is the radio and the part in the dash is just a place to see whats going on. I guess I would just install a new radio.

Have a nice day          Mark
