Chevrolet Repair: 1997 Chevrolet Blazer Shifting Problem, rear wheel speed, chev blazer

Dear Mark:  My 1997 Chev. Blazer 4X4, when it first starts, the speedometer will not work, the antilock brake light comes on, and it will not shift into third.  If you accelerate hard, the speedo starts working, the antilock brake light goes off, and it shifts to third and then overdrive.  Can you suggest a possible cause.

Hi Kent, First I haven't seen this one before. The problem must be in the speed sensor in the transfer case. This sensor works the speedo and  the rear wheel speed for the ABS. I would check the connection and then the terminals at the connection at the transfer case. Other then this I can not help you. Sorry !!
