Chevrolet Repair: Stalling problem on 2000 caveliar, fuel pump relay, bad hope

Question
The engine intermittently loses power while driving.  Recently it became progressively worse until it would not start at all. Prior to the no start condition it had been to both a mechanic and the dealer service dept. Neither could effectively diagnose it while it was intermittent. With the no start conditon a mechanic diagnosed and replaced the fuel pump relay. The car ran fine for about a week....then stalled one night....then three more times the next night. Is this a common problem with chevy caveliars?

Answer
Hi Tom, I have never replaced a relay for a fuel pump. So if that tells you anything!! The fuel pump itself is the most common thing to go bad. I'll bet the fuel pump is no good, it is about the only thing that goes bad.

Hope this helps
