Chevrolet Repair: Chevy Lumina Blend Door Actuator, chevy lumina, 1993 chevy lumina

Question
I'm getting my grandmothers 1993 Chevy Lumina v6, 3.1. My dad told me the "Blend Door Actuator" needs replaced. I understand you have to remove the dash? I'm having a really hard time finding the part. Can you help? Basically, he told me it's stuck half open and half shut, therefore, not defrosting properly, and the heat is going to the ground and in under the hood. I can't find the part anywhere.

Answer
Go under the hood and look for a softball size black ball with two vaccuum lines attached to it. Make sure these lines have not been disconnected or broken and that they have vacuum. Your door actuator is operated by this vacuum and is located either on the top portion of the heater core box or inside the heater core box.
