Chevrolet Repair: My Astro Van wont start, chevy astro van, chevy astro

Question
In the past month I've had my starter, battery, alternator and something called a flex plate replaced in my 1995 Chevy Astro Van because it wouldn't start.  At one point (before I had the work done) it died while I was driving.  When I got my van back it ran fine for a couple weeks, but now it won't start again.  When I turn the key it sounds like it's going to start, and then it just kind of dies out.  When I finally did get it started yesterday, there was almost no voltage registering. Any idea what might be wrong?

Answer
Hello Andrea,
I would want to check the fuel pressure, although battery voltage should also be checked. If it isn't charging, or just barely charging, that's about how long it would take to draw that new battery down low.

Cleaning the EGR valve would also be a good idea. If it is closing on some carbon, that would act like a vacuum leak, and could cause a stall, as well as hard to start.

But the fuel pressure needs to be up where it belongs also.
