Chevrolet Repair: windsheild wiper motor 1998 chev k1500, windsheild wiper motor, missing teeth

Question
Hi Van,

You have helped me in the past :) thank you!
i have another Q:  wiper motor was intermittent awhile ago...when it would stop, or not work at all, i 'smacked' the motor, not hard, but it seems to get the wipers moving.  They only worked for a bit yesterday.  I can hear the motor whining when i select wither mist, or intermit or low.  On high, there is no noise at all?
Should i open the puppy up and check or just get a new one?
help!
thanks!

Answer
Hello Lisa,
Go for it....open that thing up.
Takes a little Torx driver. Just remove the three screws, and the cover. Then pull the module board out.
Bet you will probably see some missing teeth in that big gear.
I assume if you move one of the wiper arms, it will take off and run also.
