Chevrolet Repair: 91 Chevy TBI, throttle position sensor, initial acceleration

Question

Cheers, Steve.
1991 2500 4X4 auto wit O/D 350 ci. 148,000 mi. This problem has come on slowly over the last month or so. After engine reaches operating temp I get a low RPM stutter or dead spot upon initial acceleration. (first couple of weeks) Now it stutters and misses at all lower RPM speeds, but still only when hot. freeway driving seems to be relatively unaffected. I have checked plugs wires and added FI cleaner. Was thinking that it could be the fuel filter, but with it only happening at temp and low speed, I wonder?

Answer
If you havent changed the fuel filter it would be a good place to start, another area I would check would be the TPS ( throttle position sensor ) and the IAC ( Idel Air Control ) The TPS could be malfunctioning and or need an adjustment, The IAC tends to get very diry over time and would need a good cleaning so it functions properly, have those areas looked at , hope this helps
