Question
I Have A 95 Astro Van, When At Idle It Has A Strong Fuel Smell . While Running It Has A Slight Bit Of Power Loss From What It Used To. About Four Months Ago Fresh Plugs And Wires With New Roter And Dist. Cap What Can I Do To Correct This ? Will This Problem Affect A Smog Check? Thanks For Your Time And Expertise .

Answer
Sounds to me like you may have a plugged or partially plugged catalitic converter, when this happens it can cause what you are seeing now, have the converter checked and or replaced, you may also want to change the Oxegyn sensors also especially if they have never been changed, these are located in the exhaust to , hope this helps and good luck
