Chevrolet Repair: 1993 s10 blazer power window problem, s10 blazer, reset time

Question
I have a 1993 s10 blazer and the drivers door power window only goes about an inch at a time when the button is pressed.  In between trying to use the power window I have to wait as much as 5 minutes.  Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Answer
Hello Dan,
My quick guess is that you need a new motor.
You could verify that by removing the fuse, and connecting an amp measuring device in its place, and see what amperage that motor requires, compared to the other window.
Excessive resistance to movement of the window, such as dirty guide channels, etc. can overload the motor, and cause it to trip the internal breaker, thus causing the reset time.
But if the amperage is the same as the good working motor, then the internal circuit breaker is probably worn. There is no replacement, except the complete motor.

There is the possibility that the switch, or a wire connection is loose, but the wait period sounds like a breaker needing to reset.
