Chevrolet Repair: 1993 S-10 Blazer not starting, pressure fuel, fuel pressure

Question
My son has a 6 cyl 4.3 L S-10 Blazer. It will not start now and he found the cable to the what we think is the cruise control vacuum to be broken. Will that cable being off cause it not to start? It was running fine up until that point.

Answer
Hi Craig, No this will not stop it from starting. You need to see if you have good spark and fuel pressure. Fuel pressure is around 50 psi and the spark should jump a gap of 1 inch. You can spark carb cleaner into the intake and see if it runs for a second. This would tell you that the fuel pump is most likely no good.

Hope this helps
